NEW BLOG!

Though I was quite excited about the name of my first blog,,Life Strings, when I first made it,but I don't feel I ever wrote anything that could live up to that name's expectations.Apart from that the address name,Life Truck, of the blog itself does not make much sense to me.So I have made a new blog, named Frivolous (a word that I have recently learned :-D ), to give my silliness a brand new home :-D If ever I have a sensible thought, I would definitely post it over here :-)
Here is the link to the new blog:

Sudden Realizations

I walk on the ground but dream of flying, like that eagle, that soars, alone, high in the sky. That is my territory. That is where I belong...

AWAKENING

Every time when I walk through the corridors of my college, my eyes get attracted, like iron to magnet, to those quotation boards, which hang there like spirits from  other world and unknown to those who pass by. These silver boards have some wonderful words inscribed upon them, which remind me about the importance of being motivated and also how we tend to deviate from our path due to the activities and the people around us. I write this piece only in an attempt to make you too aware of this fact.
We all have our dreams and aspirations. There is a task in our lives that we wish to accomplish. Just stop for a moment and think about your ambition. It might be a minuscule goal, like trying to getting up an hour early, or a huge one like setting up your own business empire.  If you feel you have more than one goal, like learning a new language, learning a dance form, writing a book, making a robot, getting admission in a good university, etcetera, then check-mark the ones that you have to conquer in the immediate future. When you have a clear picture of your target, think about the steps you have taken so far to attain your target. What strategies have you chalked out? How much time have you devoted to the most important thing in your life?
From the little experience that I have gained, in two decades of my life, I can say that many of the people fall prey to the priorities of the ones around them and such people fail to recognize their own priorities. At times the attitude and thinking of these people is too affected by the others, and these ‘others’ can be their relatives, friends, neighbors or anyone. Although such folks have the potential to out-stand the crowd yet they are unable to do so because their ability is marred by the thoughts imposed on them by those of their company. On the other hand there are people who know the importance of the job at hand and don’t waste their time fooling themselves around those who keep roaming aimlessly.
All that I want to convey is that your life is your ship and you are its captain. The people in your life, like relatives, friends, acquaintances etc form your crew. You need the crew to run the ship but you never let them command or even influence your decisions about how you run your ship. So get down to the wheel of your ship and sail towards your destination.
Good Luck!

Back in the house.

When I was in grade two or three,I can recall how my classmates would look for an opportunity to please the teacher. It was trend at that time to gift the teacher a pen on your birthday and everyone seemed to follow it without a question.I too followed it.I was quite nervous at those times when my mom would asked me to choose a pen for my teacher because I wanted it to be the best pen she had or would receive.
Pen was not the only tool used for the flattering purpose because this tool was available only on one's birthday. For the daily flattering, kids would pluck flowers to be given to the teacher and see whose flower was put in the small flower vase or a glass on the teacher's table. In my auto-rickshaw,the girls would try to locate flowers at every stop. Some of them had fixed locations or gardens,on the route to school, to pluck those flowers and at times the owners of those garden even scolded the kids. The desire of getting a beautiful flower overcame all the fear of  those scoldings.
In those days the rose was a sacred flower. One who got a rose for the teacher was given very importance. Now when I am thinking about it,I can't understand why it was so.However, the rose was above all other flowers and the most coveted one.Kids would do almost anything to grab a pink or a red one.I was quite lucky to have a rose plant at my place. When it flowered,it would have ten to fourteen flowers on it.I would pluck one daily to give to my teacher and be a special kid in the class. This did not last for long as the small garden of my house was completely removed to have more space for the transportation vehicles.
Today, after almost eleven years the rose plant has found its way back to the house and this time I don't have just one plant but nine. :-D They are red, pink and yellow in color.I look at these plants in a hope to learn a thing or two from them. This is because while selecting the plants at the nursery,I was completely overtaken by the glory of this immortal flower and forgot that its beauty  is accompanied by the cunning and ruthless thorns.
I really hope to see a companion in one of these plants. :-)

Cinema

Yesterday I sat down in front of the idiot box and bumped into the movie 'Dil Se' which was being aired on one of the channels. It was a movie that I had seen in a cinema hall with my family when I was in second or third grade. As the movie's first scene showed up,I had a new thought taking form in my mind.Old days and movies. My mother can remember the names almost all the movies that she saw in cinemas before marriage. It is not because she has a very sharp memory but because in the retro time the cinema was not quite common visiting place as it is today. The families usually choose this past time on special occasions, which reminds me of my school time, when my father use to take me to watch a movie after scoring good marks in my final tests. It was like a motivation for me to do my best at school.I can remember the other movies that my father showed me.These were: Koyla, Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, Dil se, Yarana, Krish, Jurassic Park,Baby's Day Out and Dil Toh Pagal Hai.
Today cinema is like a restaurant or any other place where you can easily hang out.I don't have to work hard to watch a movie. With a multiplex at a walking distance from my house,I can drop in in that place at any time with my friends and choose to watch a 2D, 3D or a 5D movie. The feeling of triumph is lost completely.Forget about the names,I can't even count the number of movies that I have watched in last two years.
I don't say that going to multiplexes is not fun.It is quite enjoyable, especially when you do all that funny stuff with your friends and come out with a bagful memories, but how many times all that is valued? How many times do friends sit down and remember all that stupidity? Haven't we heard of this,'excess  of anything is bad'? What is the point of going to a movie then? I have seen my friends argue at times about which movie to watch. If watching a movie of your choice is all that counts then what is the fun of going with friends? Go alone.
At last if I compare the time when I went for a movie with my father and the time when I go with my friends,I can feel the former had more meaning to it for me.The excitement to go for a movie has reduced over time.
